Knight Transportation in Salt Lake City is seeking Diesel Mechanics/Technicians with 3+ years of hands-on diesel experience to join our team at 2519 South 5370 West, West Valley City, UT 84120. This full-time, on-site role offers a 7:00 am–5:00 pm schedule and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands on diesel mechanic experience.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Comprehensive background check.
• Pre-Employment Hair Drug Screen (Marijuana is a disqualification of employment)

Responsibilities

• Repair heavy truck & trailer (semi-class 8).
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, HVAC, and Electrical diagnosing.
• Perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipment.
• Perform Tire maintenance and repairs.
• May be required to test drive equipment if CDL certified.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain a positive & proactive work environment.

Skills

3+ years hands-on diesel experience

Valid driver's license

Customer service & computer skills

Education

High School or equivalent

Diploma in vehicle maintenance (a plus)

Pay: $24 - $38 hourly

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (1 hr. lunch)

Additional Qualifications:

• High School or equivalent
• Experience with on‑the‑job training
• Diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school a plus
• Possess customer service & computer skills
• Ability to read & understand repair manuals
• Ability to multitask & work as a team
• Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results required
