Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for the Logan Township, NJ location. The role involves maintaining and reconditioning Class 1–8 vehicles, diagnosing engine faults with OEM software, and performing brake, steering, suspension, and transmission work.

Competitive pay of $28–$40 per hour plus a $1/hour shift differential, plus paid vacation, benefits, 401(k) match, and training opportunities. Monday–Friday evening shift available.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as fleet, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel tractors (Class 1-7).
• Valid CDL Class A or B or ability to obtain with trainer assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using OEM software following warranty procedures.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.

Our Miller Truck Leasing division is immediately hiring for an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician in Logan Township, NJ. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will:

• Perform preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions

You Have:

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Ability to work:
  • Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM until 11:30 PM
