Job summary

Waste Management, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Walker, LA shop. The role offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays, and pays a starting hourly wage of $32–$36 depending on experience.

You’ll receive tool and boot allowances, access to a stock purchase plan, and comprehensive benefits including health coverage and a 401(k) match. Preferred: Welding experience and ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience required.
• Be able to meet safety and physical requirements in a diesel maintenance role.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean record; legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts; follow Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns; perform safety checks and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
