Multiple Diesel Mechanic positions open for both Day and Night Shifts. Day Shift (7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and Night Shift (1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.).
Pay differential for night shift.
Must have own tools; advanced training preferred but not necessary.
Top pay for certifications or advanced training. Future advancement opportunities are available. Factory training is also available.
The role of a diesel mechanic involves a range of tasks, including:
Routine Maintenance: Diesel mechanics perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure that diesel engines are operating efficiently. This can involve changing oil and filters, checking fluid levels, inspecting belts and hoses, and more.
Diagnosis and Repair: When diesel engines experience issues or breakdowns, diesel mechanics diagnose the problems using tools like diagnostic scanners and their technical knowledge. They then perform necessary repairs, which can involve replacing faulty parts, fixing electrical and mechanical issues, and addressing problems with fuel systems, exhaust systems, and more.
Engine Overhaul: Diesel mechanics may be responsible for overhauling or rebuilding diesel engines that have suffered significant wear and tear. This can involve disassembling the engine, cleaning components, replacing worn parts, and reassembling the engine to restore its performance.
Electrical and Computer Systems: Many modern diesel engines incorporate complex electrical and computer systems for efficient operation. Diesel mechanics need to be skilled in diagnosing and repairing issues related to these systems.
Welding and Fabrication: Diesel mechanics often need to perform tasks such as welding and fabrication to repair or modify components of vehicles or equipment.
Safety Compliance: Diesel mechanics ensure that diesel engines meet safety and emissions standards by performing inspections and necessary adjustments.
Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repairs is essential in maintaining the history and performance of diesel engines.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Participate in all available training programs.
