Diagnose and repair fire apparatus and emergency equipment while being an indispensable resource to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Diagnose all apparatus service-related problems.
• Determine vehicle conditions by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery, such as pumps and compressors.
• Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, breaks, and valves.
• Adjust brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on trucks, such as hose testing, pump testing and ladder testing.
• Assist with or complete repairs such as leaks and pump packing.
• Verify vehicle performance by conducting driving tests, adjusting controls and systems.
• Install equipment on new apparatus prior to delivery.
• Keep job knowledge updated by participating in continued training and educational opportunities.
