Job summary

United Rentals in Abilene is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment. You will work safely and professionally and help customers understand equipment operations.

You will document work orders, demonstrate equipment to customers, and assist with pickup/delivery. The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and 1–2 years of repair experience or trade school graduate; own tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment or trade school graduate.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
