Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic - Service Tech IV to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited supervision. You will work safely and professionally, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to leadership in the Service Department.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various rental and customer equipment, including travel to job sites when required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
