Job summary

Waste Management is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in the United States. The role offers a starting hourly pay of $44.59 plus a $1.50 shift differential, with tool and boot allowances and comprehensive healthcare. Night shift Sunday–Friday, with stable hours and a Montrose, CO site.

You’ll perform maintenance on diesel equipment and, at times, CNG trucks, advancing your mechanic career. You will diagnose and repair systems, estimate costs, document repairs, and follow safety procedures daily.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and parts.
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics on project work.
• Review and address Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with safety procedures.

What do you need to be considered for the role of Diesel Mechanic:

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S / Canada is $21 - 22. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
