About Palko Truck and Trailer: A family-owned business serving Western Pennsylvania since 1956, providing top-tier truck repair services for over 60 years.

Position: Experienced Diesel Technician

Requirements:

  • Class A CDL
  • PA State Inspection License
  • Heavy Duty Wheel Alignment Certification
  • Welding skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose diesel engines and vehicle systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, electrical systems, etc.
  • Fabrication and welding
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and parts used
  • Assist in parts ordering and inventory management
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of mechanic experience or relevant training
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus
  • ASCE certification or equivalent in diesel engines
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Caterpillar ET, Cummins Insight, etc.)
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record; Class A CDL preferred
