Job summary

Savage is hiring a Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Roosevelt, UT. You’ll perform heavy and minor repairs on semi-tractors and trailers, maintain inventory, and use diagnostic systems to determine repairs and warranty needs. The role includes a preventative maintenance program and occasional tire work.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of diesel experience and be able to read and follow instructions. CDL-A is a plus, and safety compliance is essential in this industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of Diesel mechanic experience is a plus.
• Experience with a variety of trucks is a plus.
• Experience with crude and pneumatic trailers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy and minor repairs on all semi-tractors and pneumatic and oil tanker trailers.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory.
• Utilize computer-based diagnostic systems to determine repairs and whether they're warranty issues.
• Occasional tire work.
• Implement a thorough preventative maintenance program for a fleet of tractors and trailers, including fueling, greasing, changing oil and other fluids, and inspecting trucks.
• Accurately record work performed in Manager Plus.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements.
• Follow safety rules and operating procedures.
• Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed.
