Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Pittsburgh, PA.

• Hourly Pay: $35.53 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
• Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days

• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
• Hours: Second Shift Tues- Thurs 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Friday 12 pm - 8:30 pm, Saturday 7 am - 3:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, Post-Secondary degree, or Technical Certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
• Routine maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
• Major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
• Four (4) or more years of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
• All other certifications required by location

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to perform all T3 tasks
• Advanced analytical and repair skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic computer skills (PC, Windows)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
• Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic
• Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic equipment
• Minimum tool requirements
• Ability to road test vehicles
• Ability to coach and mentor others

• Note: Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles, obtain CDL within 6 months, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• SBTIII trained within 180 days
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses within 365 days
• Perform vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs
• Use maintenance documents and diagnostic tools effectively
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues
• Assist roadside breakdowns via remote triage
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
• Mentor and coach other technicians
• Advise management on repairs
• Use shop management and electronic documentation systems
• Follow safety and compliance guidelines
• Support operations as needed
