Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Pittsburgh, PA.

- Hourly Pay: $35.53 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
- Tool Box/Tool Allowance
- Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
- Hours: Second Shift Tues- Thurs 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Friday 12 pm - 8:30 pm, Saturday 7 am - 3:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post-Secondary degree, or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
- Major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
- Four (4) or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- All other certifications required by location
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to perform all T3 tasks
- Advanced analytical and repair skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic computer skills (PC, Windows)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties
- Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic
- Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic equipment
- Minimum tool requirements
- Ability to road test vehicles
- Ability to coach and mentor others
- Note: Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles, obtain CDL within 6 months, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check.
Responsibilities
- SBTIII trained within 180 days
- Complete OEM diagnostic courses within 365 days
- Perform vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs
- Use maintenance documents and diagnostic tools effectively
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues
- Assist roadside breakdowns via remote triage
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
- Mentor and coach other technicians
- Advise management on repairs
- Use shop management and electronic documentation systems
- Follow safety and compliance guidelines
- Support operations as needed
