Job summary

Paloma Ready Mix is seeking a hands-on heavy equipment mechanic to perform repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including Peterbilt and Kenworth mixers and diesel trucks. The role requires 1–2 years of related experience and solid knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.

The candidate should follow verbal and written directions and be adept at troubleshooting engine issues. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, servicing hydraulics and drum mechanisms,

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience as heavy equipment or equivalent training.
• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to problem solve engines.
• Mechanical aptitude with common tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Service Peterbilt and Kenworth mixers; diesel trucks.
• Repair, service and lubricate automotive and other equipment.
• Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies and adjust as needed.
• Repair and adjust engine and mixer drum hydraulics.
• Inspect, change and repair tires.
• Fill equipment with oil.
• Clean work area after repairs.
• Maintain records; perform body repairs as needed.

• Performing a variety of mechanical repairs and maintenance work on a variety of equipment.

• Servicing:

  • Peterbilt and Kenworth Mixers

  • Diesel work trucks

• Repairing, services and lubricating automotive and other equipment.

• Inspecting equipment for operating deficiencies and making routine adjustments where necessary.

• Repairing and adjusting engine and mixer drum hydraulics and mechanisms on a variety of equipment.

• Inspecting, changing and repairing tires.

• Filling equipment with oil.

• Cleaning the working area after repair work is completed.

• Maintaining operating records; performing body repair as needed.

• 1-2 years experience as a heavy equipment or equivalent training.

• Working knowledge of general operation of gasoline and diesel engines

• Knowledge of proper methods for servicing automotive and heavy equipment.

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

• Ability to problem solve engines.

• Mechanical ability to use common mechanical tools

This is a full time position with the following schedule:

• Mondays---Tuesdays---Wednesdays ---Thursdays---Fridays ---Saturdays
• Employee may choose 5-day schedule that works best. Ex. Tues-Saturday
