Job summary

Keolis Commuter Services in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Machinist (Diesel Mechanic) to repair and maintain heavy equipment and roadway machinery at construction sites. The role pays $38.16 per hour and requires a high school diploma, plus five years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include ensuring FRA safety compliance, performing repairs on engines and hydraulic systems, and operating a truck with a crane. Pre-employment screening and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Five years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
• Welding experience.
• Valid Driver’s License; DOT Medical Card; Hoisting License; CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems in roadway machinery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FRA safety and operations rules.
• Troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs on equipment components including engines, transmissions, hydraulics and conveyors.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and provide repair instructions.
• Understand mechanical operations of machinery.
• Drive heavy duty service truck, including truck-mounted crane.
• Other duties as assigned during emergencies.
