Job summary

Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is hiring a Mechanic for the Austin Division to maintain and repair diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks and mixers. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and collaborate with operations to schedule work.

Applicants should have 1+ year of diesel/heavy equipment experience, a Texas driver’s license, and the ability to pass a drug screen and physical. Overtime and night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• More than one year of hands-on experience in diesel engine and heavy transport maintenance.
• Preferred experience servicing and repairing mixer trucks.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and able to pass an MVR check.
• Ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
• Must pass a drug screen and physical examination.
• Must work overtime, nights, weekends and early mornings.
• Provide and maintain personal tools for the role.
• Proficient with hand tools and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic problems.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
• Stay updated on diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
• Follow PPE protocols, including proper use, care, and replacement.
• Abide by all federal, state and local traffic laws.
• Promptly report incidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
