Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of heavy equipment. You’ll diagnose and service diesel engines, cranes, trailers, and forklifts, combining in-shop and field work to keep operations running safely.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years of diesel or heavy equipment experience, strong troubleshooting ability, and a willingness to travel occasionally. Tools are required, with specialty tools provided by the company.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Must provide your own standard tools (specialty tools provided).
• Willingness to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, cranes, trailers, forklifts, and more.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems including onboard computers.
• Work both in shop and in the field, balancing stability and variety.
• Operate independently and manage day-to-day workload while collaborating with the team.
• Travel occasionally to support field service needs.
