Job Title: Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic (100% Travel)

Salary: $28 - $38 per hour DOE

Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Mechanic who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to our team’s success.

The Field Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a large fleet of earthmoving equipment. This includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic defects on equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and more.

Job Duties:
  1. Follow all safety rules and regulations when performing work assignments.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all fleet equipment.
  3. Make mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis of breakdowns.
  4. Record complete repair descriptions on work orders, including equipment model, serial number, and hour meter readings.
  5. Lubricate moving parts and operate repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  6. Maintain a professional image and keep the service truck clean and presentable.
  7. Maintain an acceptable driving record and follow all CDL-related rules and regulations.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must be at least 21 years old, as required by company insurance policy.
  2. Technical School Certificate and 2 years of related work experience or 5 years of related work experience.
  3. Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  4. Proven safe and reliable work habits.
  5. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy earthmoving equipment.
  6. Working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.
  7. Strong communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  9. Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to work long periods performing tasks that may require repetitive lifting, standing, kneeling, sitting, grasping, twisting, and climbing stairs/ladders.
  2. Availability to work evenings and weekends when required.
  3. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
