The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and timely repairs to keep heavy equipment operational for critical infrastructure work.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in diesel engine and heavy equipment repair, with strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine and heavy equipment repair, ideally in construction or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Inspect and service components such as transmissions, drivetrains, fuel systems, braking systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and perform timely, effective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to assess system performance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
