Job summary

A&R Truck Repair in Cecil-Bishop, PA is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our fast-paced shop team. You’ll diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure all work meets safety standards. We value hands-on expertise and a proactive mindset.

ASE certification or equivalent training is preferred, and you must supply basic hand tools. CDL Class A is a big plus; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Have an open mind and have a good attitude about life.
• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Truck Technician
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including Cummins, Detroit, or Caterpillar
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools
• ASE certification or equivalent trade school training preferred, and an ongoing attitude to self-improve.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a shop environment, we are here to help you if the day goes sideways.
• Must supply own hand tools, basic set will do.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL class A and a state inspection license is a big plus

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles
• Inspect and repair braking systems, suspension, and steering components
• Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools
• Complete accurate repair orders and document all work performed
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and compliance standards
• Communicate effectively with our parts manger and team members on job status
