Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) in Richmond, VA to maintain and repair a variety of equipment. You will travel to customer sites as needed and document work orders daily, while providing exceptional customer service.

This safety-sensitive position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, 3–5 years of repair experience, and ownership of necessary tools. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engines.
• Own tools and ability to use them safely.
• Good verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance as needed; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
