Job description

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician B to assist with repairs and maintenance on tractors, trailers, lift gates, and reefer equipment at our Martin Brower facility in Conroe.

• Candidates must be able to perform on-the-spot repairs to trailers, lift gates, reefer units, and tractors.
• Must be capable of making timely decisions during road calls and driver pull-ups, and effectively communicate with drivers, business units, and team members via phone and email.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment using computer software is required.
• Candidates should know how to perform proper preventive maintenance on all equipment with minimal supervision.

Shift: Full-Time, 3rd Shift - 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Wednesday to Saturday (initially on days M-F until fully trained)

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00/hr, depending on experience

Position Responsibilities:

• Focus on preventative maintenance of the fleet diesel equipment, identifying root causes of basic failures for repairs.
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders related to repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect brake systems to ensure proper operation and verify that equipment has the required licensing and registration.
• Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers; perform routine maintenance like oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
• Valid Driver’s License to operate applicable company vehicles.
• Own tools meeting minimum requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience: Technical School Certification
