Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to repair and maintain tractor and trailer equipment at our shop. Shift: Full-Time 9:00AM - 5:30PM, Monday-Friday.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of related experience, own tools, and a valid CDL A is highly desired; DOT-regulated driving may apply. Competitive pay, healthy benefits, and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years related experience.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR per DOT regulations.
• CDL A highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Ability to frequently lift/push/pull weights over 50 pounds (up to 100).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnose complex mechanical/electrical problems using diagnostic tech.
• Perform detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA and Reyes safety policies and use PPE appropriately.
• May drive Reyes vehicles; ensure DOT file is maintained; DOT screening applies.
• Some travel may be required.

Reyes Fleet Management, 1 of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to repair and maintain the tractor and trailer equipment at our Reyes Beverage Group shop in Chesapeake, VA.

Shift: Full-Time 9:00AM - 5:30PM, Monday-Friday

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00/hr, depending upon experience/qualifications

Position Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review
• Some travel may be required

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 3 plus years of related experience
• Must possess own tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
