Job summary

R+L Carriers in Salem, VA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform day-to-day maintenance on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment. This full-time role has Monday–Friday schedules with various shifts and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air conditioning and electrical systems, and occasional welding. You must have your own tools, lift at least 50 lbs, and 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Must be able to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet vehicles and trailers.
• Carry out minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks and related equipment.
