Job summary

Waste Connections is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Monroe, LA site on the 2nd shift (1:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.), 50–60 hours per week. You will diagnose and repair diesel engines and systems, including DPF, hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in diesel/heavy-truck maintenance, CDL preferred, and welding/fabrication experience. Competitive pay and benefits provided. CDL required for operations as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel or heavy-truck fleet maintenance experience.
• Experience with MACK and Cummins diagnostics is a plus.
• Proficiency in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of heavy-truck suspensions, steering, braking, and transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced engine diagnostics and exhaust diagnostics including DPF systems for MACK and Cummins.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical and wiring issues.
• Repair air brake systems (Bendix and Meritor).
• Diagnose and service suspensions and steering.
• Repair automatic and manual transmissions.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Keep work area organized and maintain tools.
• Utilize knowledge of McNeilus equipment when applicable.
• Complete required documentation and service records.
