Job summary

United Rentals is the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to maintain and repair rental equipment. You will perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel system work with emphasis on safety and quality, while documenting activities and supporting customer service.

The role offers opportunities for growth within the Service Department, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and delivering exceptional customer service to our clients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
