Job summary

HD Repair Center LLC in Plainfield, IL is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Entry Level 1 Technician to join our technical team. In this role you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet to keep our drivers on the road.

You will work with experienced supervisors and senior technicians, learn our maintenance processes and OEM training, and have opportunities for growth in a safety-focused shop with modern tools and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Problem solving and tool usage ability required.
• Customer service and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our drivers.
• Using HD Repair Center’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using OEM training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
