Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment, ensuring safety and professionalism on every job.

You will work to improve skills toward higher‑level Tech roles within our Service Department while delivering exceptional customer service daily. Key duties include servicing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems; documenting work orders; and traveling to job sites

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
