United Rentals in Portland, ME is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES). You will maintain and repair customer-owned equipment safely and professionally, with opportunities to advance into higher tech roles in our Service Department.

You’ll service mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment, travel to sites as needed, and document work. The role emphasizes customer service and teamwork with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment and tools.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed on a daily basis.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
