Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain medium and heavy-duty trucks, including all heavy construction equipment equipped with diesel engines and related equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, adjust, and test all engines, motors, moving parts, and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment or materials to identify causes of problems or defects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and determine necessary repairs.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment.
  • Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment.
  • Recondition and replace parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, and valves.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and plan solutions.
  • Install equipment to meet specifications.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The following are the requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of experience in diesel mechanical maintenance.
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience preferred.
  • CDL license preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date methods for maintaining heavy construction and diesel equipment.
  • Understanding of operating principles and maintenance of diesel engines.
