As a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited supervision in a safe, professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve, challenge yourself, and potentially advance into leadership roles within our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key expectation.

What You'll Do

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment using independent judgment.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance as needed; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians.
• Complete and document work orders accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate complex equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals' policies.
