Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. is seeking a heavy‑duty fleet technician in West Palm Beach, FL to diagnose mechanical problems, repair heavy‑duty trucks, and keep the fleet operating safely and reliably.

We offer a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates, hourly pay of $28.00–$34.00 based on experience, plus a monthly tool allowance, annual boot allowance, ASE incentives, and excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing suspension, brake, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturer service manuals.
• Proficient with vehicle diagnostic tools and OEM specifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and repair heavy‑duty and light‑duty trucks to keep the fleet safe and productive.
• Review DVIRs and repair orders and complete repairs accordingly.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, hydraulic and body systems.
• Use diagnostic systems to identify failure modes and perform accurate repairs.
• Adhere to factory service manuals and manufacturer specifications during repairs.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate with managers/drivers about status and preventive maintenance.
• Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with Waste Pro and OSHA standards.
• Follow all safety policies and demonstrate professionalism and accountability.

Primary Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and repair orders.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, body components, and related vehicle systems.
• Utilize vehicle computer diagnostic systems and electronic equipment to identify failure modes and perform accurate repairs.
• Perform repairs in accordance with Factory Service Manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment safety inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Communicate with managers and drivers regarding vehicle conditions, repair status, and preventive maintenance recommendations to reduce future repairs.
• Complete repair orders and all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with Waste Pro and OSHA standards.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate a high standard of ethics, professionalism, dependability, and accountability.

Qualifications

We're looking for technicians who enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues, take pride in quality workmanship, and want to continue growing their careers.

• Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment with the ability to interpret manufacturer service manuals and perform accurate repairs.
• The ability to complete repairs within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and accurately estimate labor time and materials required.
• The ability to provide assistance, guidance, and technical support to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
• A commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and dependable attendance.
• CDL Class B license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment.

Work Environment

This position is performed both indoors and outdoors and requires working in a busy maintenance shop with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, vehicle traffic, noise, dirt, grease, chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Occasional road calls and work in extreme weather may be required.
