Job summary

Waste Management, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to service and repair trucks and equipment. You’ll work a regular Monday–Friday schedule with a third shift from 6pm to 4am, and you’ll contribute to a safe, efficient fleet that supports communities.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles and maintain a safe work area.
  • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics on project work.
  • Review and update Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and safety procedures.

Each day you’ll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 20 millioncustomers across the USA. As a diesel mechanic you can take pride in watching atruck roll out of the shop, knowing your local community will be supported byyour hard work. You’ll beusing modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on bothdiesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks.

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and airsystems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
