Waste Management, Inc. (WM) is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for our Wildwood, FL hauling site. The role offers a 2nd shift from 1pm to 11:30pm, with Monday–Friday hours and Saturday work on holidays.

Starting pay is $26.00–$31.09 per hour, with a tool allowance and boot stipend, plus comprehensive benefits and a 401(k) plan. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems across a wide range of vehicles.

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and airsystems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and thepeople in our communities is our number one priority
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting forrepair times.
• Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver VehicleInspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHAStandards and perform all work in accordance with established safetyprocedures.

What do you need to be considered for the role of Diesel Mechanic

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or withoutreasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Work environment and physical demands

• Required to exert physical effort that will include but is not limited tofrequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; Constantlystanding, walking, and grasping; Occasionally: sitting and balancing
• Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns,exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often;
• Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors,noise, weather extremes or similar elements often;
• This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as wellas in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
