The hours and location you’ll work in as a Diesel Mechanic with WM:

• 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
• 3rd Shift Sunday – Thursday 9:00 pm to 5:30 am
• We’re committed to offering you stable hours for the financial security and work-life balance you need.
• The normal setting for this job is a repair/maintenance shop at our Newark, OH hauling site.

More about your role as a Diesel Mechanic:

Each day, you’ll repair trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. You’ll take pride in your work, knowing your efforts support your community. You’ll work on high-skill equipment, using modern tools and procedures, including maintenance on CNG trucks at some locations.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate costs for repairs and parts.
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks, ensuring safety for all.
• Complete paperwork, documenting parts and repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics with projects.
• Review and complete repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Over 18 years old
• Legally eligible to work in the US
• Ability to perform physical tasks with or without accommodations
• Pass pre-employment drug and physical tests
