Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Hyattsville, MD to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment across electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. You’ll work in a shop setting with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential Saturday rotations, earning a starting hourly pay of $28–$32.50 with benefits and opportunities for growth.

This role requires at least 2 years of hands-on experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to pass

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA standards.
• Assist senior Mechanics on project work and review/assign DMV repairs.

Monday - Friday every week ( possible rotating Saturdays)
