Qualifications

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and performing preventive maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment, supporting all aspects of vehicle and machine repair and maintenance.

Reports To:

Shop Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Work under limited supervision following written instructions and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
• Use vehicle electronics systems for diagnostics
• Handle emergency breakdown service calls
• Conduct safety checks and complete maintenance documentation
• Assist colleagues and review repair reports

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to perform physical tasks, pass drug, physical, and background checks
• Must be 18 or older

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently
• Exposure to dirt, noise, weather, and occupational hazards
• Occasional local travel

Compensation:

$30-$35 per hour
