Job summary

US Foods is hiring a heavy-duty diesel mechanic in Zebulon, NC to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment. You will work with a maintenance team, document work in the system, and help ensure a safe, reliable fleet. The role requires a year of hands-on diesel experience and your own tools.

Training and growth are emphasized in a safety‑conscious facility. We offer a Monday–Friday 1st shift, $24/hour based on certs and experience, and benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

  • Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
  • Complete required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
  • Assist senior technicians with repairs as directed.
  • Document repairs and parts used in the fleet maintenance system.

The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $24.
