Interstate Power Systems is hiring a skilled technician in Butler, WI, to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy-duty trucks and equipment. Qualifications

  • 2+ years working on diesel trucks or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in shop conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Repair/replace major components including engines and transmissions.
  • Communicate repairs and recommendations to customers.

Skills

Mechanical aptitude with diesel engines

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy‑duty diesel trucks and/or equipment.
  • Repair/replace major components including engines, transmissions, turbos, and differentials
  • Use diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Detroit Diagnostic Link, OEM tools)
  • Complete service documentation for repairs, parts, and compliance
  • Communicate repairs and recommendations to customers and internal teams
  • Follow all safety standards (OSHA, DOT, company protocols)
  • Maintain tools and equipment for daily operations
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 2+ years working on diesel trucks or heavy equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engines, electrical systems, and diagnostics
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
  • Experience with OEM diagnostic tools preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in shop conditions
Bonus Points
