Job summary

A regional trucking company in Alabama is seeking a skilled diesel technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel engine trucks and trailers. This role involves performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting various mechanical and electrical issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in the trucking industry, a strong knowledge of diesel engines, and good problem-solving skills. Competitive pay of up to $31.50 per hour with additional shift differentials and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a diesel technician in the trucking industry.
• Ability to weld or experience as a welder is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engine trucks.

Job description

As a diesel technician / mechanic at Southern Haulers, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engine trucks, and various types of trailers. Your role is crucial in keeping our fleet in top condition, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and reliable service to our customers.

Location:

• 1st Shift:Monday-Friday 5:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
• 2nd Shift:Monday-Friday 4:00 P.M.-2:30 A.M.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks & trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and ensure vehicle safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair air braking systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair emission systems using OEM software.
• Troubleshoot and repair collision mitigation/roll stability systems using OEM Software.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Collaborate with the team to complete repairs efficiently.
• Ensure that all work complies FMCSA/DOT standards.
