Job summary

Meffert Oil Company is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of petroleum transport trucks and trailers. You will ensure safety, reliability, and DOT compliance while delivering quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and trailer equipment, plus completing work orders with accuracy in a busy shop.

Qualifications

  • CDL and HAZMAT are required.
  • Experience with diesel engines, truck and trailer maintenance, and DOT requirements.
  • Diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.
  • Inspect and maintain trailer equipment including pumps, meters, hoses, valves, and loading/unloading systems.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and air brake systems.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
  • Coordinate with drivers and management to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Overview

Meffert Oil Company is seeking an experienced, dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of petroleum transport trucks, trailers, and related equipment to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all DOT regulations.   • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and petroleum transport trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.

  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • CDL and HAZMAT required.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
