• Hourly Pay: $33.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, such as oil changes, brake, and tire work
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
• All other certification as required by location required

• ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy and medium-duty equipment
• Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

• This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder Drug Test
• Pass DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, including Drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
• Standard vehicle maintenance
• Preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers as applicable
• Complete detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work independently on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
• Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Follow all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed, including Service Island support
• Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
• Complete 2 OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days, based on fleet mix
