Transdev North America, Inc. in San Marcos, Texas is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across our fleet.

The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and longevity of vehicles, with opportunities to lead and mentor junior technicians. Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel technician with experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory capabilities.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or expected within 3 months of hire).
• ASE certification preferred; plan to participate in ASE testing within 1 year of hire.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable per DOT regulations.

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components.
• Assist A-Level mechanics with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
• Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine repair strategies.
• Overhaul and rebuild diesel engine components to required specifications.
• Mentor junior technicians and support team development.
• Perform other duties as required.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ of experience as a diesel technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or expected within 3 months of hire).
• ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE certifications within 12 months of hire
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
• Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
