Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Compensation and Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $32.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 each quarter
• Sign-On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and another $1,750 at 90 days
• Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday
• Hours: Second shift - Tuesday to Friday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair, including routine maintenance, diagnostics, AC, and electrical systems
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred
• All certifications required by location

Additional Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with heavy and medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

Driving Requirements

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics
• Complete inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to diagnose issues
• Utilize shop management systems and documentation
• Follow all safety and compliance guidelines
• Mentor junior technicians
• Access and use maintenance documents
• Support operations as needed, including Service Island duties
• Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required
