Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Benefits and Compensation
  • Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
  • Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become an employee, you must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test
  • Pass background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers in the last 3 years

Note: Additional requirements may vary by location or account.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct standard vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identify root causes and perform necessary repairs
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, and corporate guidelines
  • Support operations as needed, including service island duties
