About the Role

Weitsman Recycling is hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic to support our fleet maintenance operations. In this critical role, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of our diesel trucks and heavy equipment. We are seeking candidates with strong mechanical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and off-road equipment

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues

  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Maintain accurate service logs and parts usage records

  • Respond to emergency repairs and perform on-site or roadside service as needed

  • Collaborate with fleet supervisors and other departments to prioritize repairs

  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized shop environment

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair

  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
