Ryder is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Oak Creek, Wisconsin — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

We offer onboarding training, a 40-hour work week on first shift with 8:00 am–5:00 pm hours, and a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision after 30 days, 401(k) match, and paid PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Identifies components and performs minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Performs all entry level tasks.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.

• Hourly Pay:$25.19 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Schedule: Monday–Friday Weekends OFF

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred
• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
