Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• One year of transportation maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifies components and performs minor repairs.
• Assists with preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Supports facility maintenance tasks as needed.
• Performs entry level tasks and learns diagnostic procedures.
• Diagnoses simple mechanical/electrical issues with diagnostics.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay:$25.19 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Schedule: Monday–Friday Weekends OFF
• Hours: First Shift 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance
• Performs component identification and minor repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Perform all entry level tasks
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Performs other related duties as assigned
