Ryder in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is hiring a permanent full-time entry level diesel technician to support our truck fleet. The position reports to the maintenance team and offers a second shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm with weekends off.

This role provides hands-on training with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools, a competitive hourly rate of $27.19, and comprehensive benefits after 30 days, plus growth opportunities and tuition assistance.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools required for entry level tasks.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Performs component identification and minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Perform all entry level tasks.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems using a diagnostic computer when applicable.

• Hourly Pay:$27.19 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
• Schedule: Monday-Friday Weekends OFF

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred

• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
