Applied Staffing LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment across a transportation fleet in Wisconsin. The role focuses on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and safe operation of heavy machinery while documenting services for compliance.

You will work with OEM schematics and diagnostic tools, perform welding and fabrication as needed, and contribute to reliability and safety across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment servicing.
• Ability to read schematics and perform electrical diagnostics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication basics.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving suspension systems, steering components, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference.
• Support heavy equipment operation during repairs or testing phases to verify functionality after maintenance or repair work.
• Assist with tire service, brake repair, alignment procedures, and hydraulic system repairs to uphold safety standards across all machinery.

Requirements

• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic; strong background in heavy equipment servicing is excellent.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, and troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
• Certification or demonstrated experience in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, HVAC systems for vehicles/equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
