JOB SUMMARY

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Diesel Technician to join our team. The main duties include running diagnostic tests, identifying failures, and performing repairs. This may involve tasks such as replacing transmissions and third member assemblies. Our Diesel Technicians collaborate with team members to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.

SHIFT: 8am-5pm

PAY: $24-$29/hour

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Perform DOT inspections and repairs on company vehicles and machinery.
• Use hand tools and powered equipment like impact wrenches, welding tools, hoists, and jacks, following safety protocols.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic equipment and wiring schematics, then perform necessary repairs.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and identify issues.
• Replace parts, valves, bearings, assemblies, and repair cooling and heating systems.
• Apply knowledge of diesel emissions and diagnostics for accurate repairs.
• Ensure parts meet factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• At least 1 year of professional experience as a diesel technician.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, logistical, mathematical, and communication skills.
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance issues.
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Proficient with diagnostic computers.
• Experience working on trailers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of forklift repair and maintenance is a plus.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, and balancing.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts up to 80 pounds over 20 feet.
• Reaching objects at waist or shoulder height.
• Climbing into/out of vehicles and opening/closing cargo doors.
• Climbing ladders and stairs.
