Position Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy municipal and contractor equipment within the BEC portfolio. Equipment may include sewer combination cleaner trucks, hydro excavators, street sweepers, multi-purpose tractors and attachments, and leaf maintenance equipment.

Essential Functions

• Diagnose and repair mechanical defects on heavy equipment and related products.
• Remove and disassemble engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and powertrains.
• Rebuild, reinstall, align, and adjust components and assemblies.
• Apply safe and appropriate welding and fabrication techniques when necessary.
• Operate machine shop tools and follow safe machine shop practices.
• Maintain timely and effective communication with the Service Team Lead and Parts Department to ensure optimal repair efficiency.
• Accurately complete work orders and document all repairs, including parts and supplies used.
• Provide detailed repair and replacement estimates.
• Assist with field service calls and off-site repairs as needed.
• Interact with customers to communicate repair estimates and project status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions.
